Mosaic Connections is grounded in the philosophy that legacy leadership in the 21st century will require the ability to collaborate across a wide field of diverse stakeholders. Legacy leadership is all about building collaborative relationships. Our ability to collaborate determines the quality of our customer relationships and our ability to effectively satisfy their needs. It affects our ability to capture market share, motivate employees, provide quality services, and more. Similarly, rapidly changing demographics require culturally diverse communities to collaborate to achieve sustainable economic value for everyone. Even personal and family relationships require collaborative skills and competencies to successfully navigate life stages such as marriage, parenting, education and careers in a rapidly changing economy.

Collaboration is about finding mutual purpose by understanding both our commonalities and differences. It is time that we go beyond diversity in terms of only our differences in age, gender and ethnicity. Just as important is the diversity of differences and commonalities found in the form of education, creativity, discipline, roles, and responsibilities. Both uniquely shape our values, perspectives and views, which affect the nature and quality of our relationships and our approach to addressing problems. Viewing from the lens of both our differences and commonalities, we can enable and mobilize collaborative relationships to achieve the best possible solutions for complex problems and situations.

This program is based on the research conducted by hundreds of experts in leadership, problem solving, and learning design, along with individuals from private, state and government sectors. It explores the most effective strategies and approaches for developing and promoting collaborative leadership and collective creativity.
