Our theme: “Take Care of Your Legacy: It is Our Future addresses the ripple effect of our legacy.

Most of us are aware that we live within legacies created by those who came before us. But, are you aware that the personal decisions you make today are the legacies you leave behind for others tomorrow?

This is a cross-generational conference for progressive women who understand the importance of leaving an uplifting legacy or a contribution that makes a positive difference. It is about how we can proactively navigate a legacy that is both fulfilling for each of us today and rewarding for others tomorrow. Both Baby Boomers and Millennials alike share this passion.

Meet extraordinary women of all ages, stages, and professions with personal legacies that are changing the world. Learn, grow, network, and simply have FUN! Join The Legacy Women Movement. Register today!

 Who Should Attend

Our target audience is about stage, not age and is comprised of four flexible women’s groups and one for men:

 Conference Topics

Explore your legacy and its impact against the key areas that will matter most for women in the 21st Century:

Your Career Matters: According to McKinsey & Company, corporations that have top female executives show greater profitability and have employees that are more motivated than companies that do not. What perspectives do women bring to enable such change for corporations? Find out.

Women intuitively seek ways to use the business platform as a conduit for social change. Did you know that in 1856, a woman from Rochester, NY invented the first retail franchise? And, another invented the network marketing concepts used by major companies today? Learn more about these amazing legacy women!

Your Health Matters:  A new study shows that a generational shift in obesity rates is setting the younger generation up for shorter life and poorer health in comparison to their baby boomer parents. What can you do to change this?

Your Security Matters: More women are supporting families than ever in the history our nation. Four out of five couples are dual-earner couples today. In our culture, money is central to our existence. It is the fuel that makes our life work. What strategies are you employing about securing and maintaining the lifestyle you want?

Your Leadership Matters:  In every presidential election since 1980, the proportion of female adults who voted have exceeded the proportion of male adults who voted. Women make up 52% of the population, yet only 17% of congress is female. Women are not in key positions to adequately influence the decisions that affect their lives and the lives of their families. How can we change this?

Lessons from the Legendary: Let Susan B. and Martha Harper Launch Your Legacy

Dare to make dreams come true and leave an indelible mark for the future using the lessons from both a historic suffragist and a servant girl turned franchise creator.

About the Speaker:  Jane Plitt, former Rochester business leader, labor arbitrator, and Visiting Scholar at the University of Rochester, has been a path blazer throughout her life from ending sex-segretated newspaper advertisements, men’s only grills, to men’s only service organization like Rotary, Kiwanis, Jaycees, Lions, and opening opportunities for women in labor relations and life.  By chance discovering a clipping about  Martha Matilda Harper, she spent six years uncovering her story and publishing Harper’s biography (Martha Matilda Harper and the American Dream), which propelled Harper into the National Women’s Hall of Fame and history books, again. Building on her efforts, there is growing interest in social entrepreneurship, how to use business for social change.  Now Plitt is working on empowering patients to obtain better health care.
