General Description

Internship program for the Summer of 2013 is designed for students seeking a career within a specified field. This is an Internship opportunity for both qualified college/university and high school students who have the potential to become future leaders in Legacy Women Institute International and the business community. The program provides the Student Intern practical work experience to augment their education and career preparation. During the work experience, the Student Intern will be exposed to the interpersonal relationships a job requires, both with co-workers and supervisors that are essential in obtaining a successful, satisfying career.

Internship description

Legacy Women Institute International has a need for a business development, project management, videographer/film production, and research summer interns. We are currently looking for the following positions:

  • Business Development Associate
  • Project Management Associate
  • Film Production Associate
  • Research Associate
  • Social Media Associate
LOCATION

While this is a remote working arrangement, it is required that you are based in the Rochester, NY area.  Intern(s) will be required to work in-office twice a month with President.  Weekly meetings will be conducted via phone.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programs and pursing a degree in marketing, business, communications, film, art, or other related fields. Both women and men are welcome to apply.

COMPENSATION

This is an un-paid position. College/Graduate credit is available, if applicable.

START DATE

The positions available begin June 2013.  Please note there is an option for an earlier start date if of interest.

Business Development/ Project Management Internships

This position demands that the applicant have PowerPoint and Excel skills as well as organization, communication, and presentation skills. The most qualified candidates will have experience with developing original PowerPoint content, desktop publishing, and creating and maintaining an Excel database.

Tasks will include:

 

  • Developing PR contact databases for local, regional and national outlets
  • Administrative duties
  • Creating and formatting original PowerPoint presentations
  • Generating lead sheets within Excel
  • Developing PR contact databases for local, regional and national outlets
  • Writing, editing and research

Film Production/Videographer Associate

This position demands that the applicant have storyboarding, chorography, PowerPoint and Excel skills as well as organization, communication, and presentation skills. The most qualified candidates will have experience with developing original PowerPoint content, desktop publishing, and creating and maintaining an Excel database.

Tasks will include:

  • TV/Film/Photography
  • Administrative duties
  • Creating and formatting original PowerPoint presentations
  • Generating lead sheets within Excel
  • Developing PR contact databases for local, regional and national outlets
  • Writing, editing and research

Research Associate

This position demands that the applicant have research, writing, editing, interviewing and presentation skills.  The most qualified candidates will have experience with writing press releases, research reports and other business related documents on topics of economics, economic development, business or social issues.

Tasks will include:

  • Writing, editing and research
  • Interviewing
  • Administrative duties

Social Media Associate

This position is looking for applicants that have social media skills and knowledge along with researching, writing, editing, interviewing and presentation skills.  The most qualified candidates will have experience with writing press releases, research reports and other business related documents on topics of economics, economic development, business or social issues.

Tasks will include:

  • Writing, editing and research
  • Interviewing
  • Administrative duties
  • Social media skills and knowledge
